About The Hypno Party
Jeffrey Powers
"Jeffrey Powers"  is the  hypnomagician stage name of Jeffery Lyle Segal, M.A., C. Ht.

He started doing magic for childrens’ parties at age ten.   He was a popular magic clown on Chicago's North Shore for fifteen years, performing as "The Great Whodunit."  At age 15, he became the youngest ever strolling entertainer and balloon animal artist at Chicago's Pickle Barrel Restaurant, which was famous for its free pickles, popcorn and balloon animals.

He started performing  in musical theater as a singing actor at age 13. His theatrical career has included professional work as an actor, director, producer, and as Executive Director of Chicago’s acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company during their debut professional season.

After initial undergraduate studies in both theater and psychology, he earned his B.S. in Speech from Northwestern University.  He then earned his M.A. in Theater from S.U.N.Y. at Binghamton.  His interest in human behavior and psychology sparked by his acting training led him to study hypnosis.  He is now a Certified Hypnotist (C. Ht.) member of both the International Certification Board for Clinical Hypnotherapists (ICBCH) and the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH).

His comedy stage hypnosis show is a unique theatrical experience, which uses magic and mentalism to demonstrate hypnotic phenomena before the real hypnosis starts, combining these entertainments into a show that delights, mystifies and educates audiences of all ages.

He is available as a keynote speaker in a lecture which he combines with hypnosis demonstration, on the subject of how our subconscious mind impacts our actions, and determines our success or failure in business and in life.

In addition to his stage work, he is available to help private clients with individual needs such as smoking cessation, weight control, anxiety reduction, athletic performance, overcoming phobias, and pain management, either in person in  Chicago (where he is based) or occasionally New York City (where he works several days of the month), or wherever his clients may be via Zoom or Skype.
